Investment News

My interest is mainly in hi-tech stocks, and what I've seen of the UK coverage is pretty unimpressive. A couple of useful sites are ESI for price quotes (using lists, not a ticker) and AIM (The Alternative Investment Market).

Small Company Investor's site was a regular source of market news on small-cap companies, BUT both this and the paper-based magazine seem to have "ceased to be".

"Over the pond", it's all different. I've seen some great sites in my search for info about General Magic (GMGC), and most are free ('though the Wall Street Journal now charges a quarterly fee of $** unless you use IE3 ...which I don't).

The Monday edition of the Financial Times ("Cyber Sightings" by Stephen McGookin) gives a commentary on new sites it has found, and is often a good source of leads.

A few of my favourites. (Some links are to General Magic info. Remember, I told you this was for my benefit.)

Closing Bell : Prices by e-mail (or use In Box Direct).
Silicon Investor : US computer stocks forum (+ graphs).
NewsHub : draws together daily news sources.
Yahoo! : Everything. (This link to General Magic.)
Wall Street Journal : Excellent. Subscribe or use IE3.
StockHouse Online Journal : Micro/ "small cap" stocks.
BullandBear : Online chat forum, etc.
